Hello and welcome to Mr. Choquette's U.S. History website!  I will be posting various resources to aide you in your learning. 

 

In keeping with the IB Program's student learning goals this course is intended to increase student’s global perspectives and historical understanding of the world. This course will focus on the aims and objectives of the IB program and is writing and reading intensive. Students will be expected to independently work towards an understanding of history through Historiography or investigation and consideration of different historian’s perspectives. Students will sharpen their writing skills through the completion of various writing assignments; developing their revision skills and formal documentation skills.

Upcoming Assignments:

  • Homework for Tuesday 9/20: Chapter 17 Cornell Notes see KAS Moodle for PDF version of the chapter; chapter 18 is also posted.
  • We will soon have our first TEST: on Thursday 9/22 you will be sent home with a take home essay (Students do not have school on Friday 9/23) and on Monday 9/26 you will have a multiple choice section to be completed in class covering content from chapters 13-18.

Reminder, Cornell reading notes for Chapter 2 are due for Monday 8/22.  We will also have our first paper due to be submitted via Turnitin.com next week Friday 8/26.  You paper should follow the directions in the "essay instructions" pdf below; answering the following question: "Have Americans lived up to the ideals expressed in the Declaration of Independence?"

Cornell notes for Ch. 1 are due on Wednesday 8/17. Your Timeline (Processing assignment) should be submitted electronically via email to me by class time on Friday.
